When someone looks into your eyes they should see something alive withinyou. Having a dream is like owning a lighthouse1 which directs you on yourjourney.

At every turn we come across its mystery. At each new level we become moreof the person we were meant to become. In lonely times, when we pass through astorm of disappointment, we find our faith is unshaken, our strength stillstrong.

Believe in your faith. Set the vision before your eyes. Write down yourmost sincere dreams and when the opportunity comes, step into your dream. It maytake one season or more, but the result is the same. Make big dreams and then goout and make them realities. The highest hopes of the dreamer are revealed withevery step taken in their journey to the impossible. For a season we mustprotect the dream so that it can grow quietly on the inside. But if we tenderlycare for our deepest expectations, slowly but surely the dream will become newlife.

Dreaming is an act of faith. The light of your expectations will cast offthe shadows of a disbelieving world. God has given us the dreamer as a gift tolight an unbelieving world.

Find your treasure within and cherish2 it. Tomorrow is waiting for you totake the first step.

If I had my life to live over……I would have talked less and listened more.I would have invited friends over to dinner even if the carpet was strained andthe sofa faded. I would have taken the time to listen to my grandfather rambleabout his youth. I would never have insisted the car windows be rolled up on asummer day because my hair had just been teased and sprayed. I would have burnedthe pink candle sculpted like a rose before it melted in storage. I would havesat on the lawn with my children and not worried about grass stains. I wouldhave cried and laughed less while watching television - and more while watchinglife. I would have gone to bed when I was sick instead of pretending the earthwould go into a holding patter if I were not there for the day. I would neverhave bought anything just because it was practical，would not show soil or wasguaranteed to last a life time. There would have been more“I love you”……more“I‘msorry”……but mostly，given another shots at life，I would seize every minute……lookat it and really see it……live it……and never give it back.

I myself, a rather shy person by nature who easily suffer from stage fright, had to pluck up great courage to take part in a speech contest like this. I could have stayed away and had an easy time of it by not entering the university level contest.But I chose to accept the challenge and to face the difficulties. Now here I am. If I come out first, it will be a great success for me. If I come out last-I hope this will not be the case-but if I come out last, I will not call my attempt a failure, but will also celebrate it as a true success, because part of my goal is my own character training-to do more assertive, to be brave in face of difficulties. For me, it is a meaningful step forward, small as it is, in the long journey toward the final success in my life, because I have truly gained by participating.

Let us return to our handsome young prince and the 4-step definition of success. You my have noticed that the usual worldly criteria of wealth, position and fame were not mentioned as part of the story, but rather, it emphasized the process of overcoming difficulties. Youth is not a time of life, it is a state of mind ; it is not rosy cheeks , red lips and supple knees, it is a matter of the emotions : it is the freshness ; it is the freshness of the deep springs of life .

Youth means a temperamental predominance of courage over timidity of the appetite , for adventure over the love of ease. This often exists in a man of 60 more than a boy of 20 . Nobody grows old merely by a number of years . We grow old by deserting our ideals.

Years wrinkle the skin , but to give up enthusiasm wrinkles the soul . Worry , fear , self –distrust bows the heart and turns the spirit back to dust .

Whether 60 of 16 , there is in every human being ‘s heart the lure of wondersthe unfailing childlike appetite of what’s next and the joy of the game of living . In the center of your heart and my heart there’s a wireless station : so long as it receives messages of beauty , hope ,cheer, courage and power from men and from the infinite, so long as you are young .

When the aerials are down , and your spirit is covered with snows of cynicism and the ice of pessimism, then you are grown old ,even at 20 , but as long as your aerials are up ,to catch waves of optimism , there is hope you may die young at 80.
